We simply cannot function without people with big hearts, good eyes and willing hands in our local community.
It’s your big hearts which create the possibility for helping those who could use a hand.
It’s your good eyes which see the needs around you.
It’s your willing hands which respond to those needs with real, practical, tangible help.
Sharing Life is merely the nerve network which allows one person’s eyes and another’s hands to meet the needs which are too much for one person to deal with alone.
So please join us.
Thank you
We depend entirely on volunteers for everything – so much so that we ARE our volunteers. There is no you and us, no us and them. We’re all in this together.
If you have a skill, an interest, or a resource you’re willing to share from time to time, you’re already one of us at heart. You’re probably already doing neighbourly things for people, and you could possibly teach us a thing or two!
What we might be able to do is co-ordinate, to facilitate, to apply available resources without overloading those who find it hardest to say ‘No’. We might be able to put together a small team of people doing what you do, which would speed things up for those who need the job done, and add a fresh dimension to doing the work.
If you’ve never had the opportunity to help people in this way, this is a great way to get involved for the first time, and to experience the deep satisfaction which comes from being needed and doing the business.
So, why not contact us or fill out the form below.
Every charity and good cause is after your money! It’s such a struggle to work out which ones to support. So we’re going to do something different – we’re not going to ask you for your money.
Sure, we need it – but we’re not going to ask for it.
We’ll just tell you what a difference it’s made to those of us who fund Sharing Life that we can know that we’re working with people we’re in community with. Even in Africa, even in India.
Our overseas partners are people we know and care about, and who have specific projects that we can support which will make a huge difference to people living in extreme conditions – of drought and famine, of violent injury or terminal illness, in refugee camps or on the streets. These are the people who most need our financial investment.
We know how important every penny we can send them is, and this inspires us to do what we can to raise the money.
In the local area, where there is not the abject poverty we have witnessed in India and East Africa, we can still help people recover their dignity and be restored to being contributing members of their community – maybe for the want of a bit of a hand with something they can’t cope with.
Building up a local community is in everyone’s interest, because it makes for a better place to live for all. But it’s your money…
If you want to find out what it’s like to give to help us in this work, please feel free to contact us.
